The rape matter involving an accused British national living in Barbados and a British Airways cabin crew member has taken a twist with the attorney for the accused suing a hotel to gain CCTV footage.

Businessman Daniel Peter Johnson, 41, of Edgehill Heights, St Thomas, appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court last month on a charge of having unlawful sexual intercourse with the woman on March 6.

His attorney Lalu Hanuman successfully applied for bail after the prosecution had objected to the accused man’s release.

Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes later released Johnson on $10 000 with one surety, confiscated his passport and ordered him to report to Cane Garden Police Station twice a week. (HLE)
