As the country expands its renewable capabilities, more Barbadians will be needed to help with the transition.

Minister of Energy and Business Senator Lisa Cummins gave that assessment as she encouraged locals to apply for the 2024 Energy Development Scholarship.

“Many of you have heard the discussion on energy transitioning and we’ve had a conversation around things relating to solar PV because that’s been most pervasive. But wind, onshore wind and offshore wind, skills developments are critical, Cummins said.

She made those comments yesterday at Warrens Office Complex where the ministry shared details about some of its ongoing plans and how important the scholarship was to those developments. (TG)
