Barbados remains under a hurricane warning as Hurricane Beryl has intensified to a Category 4 storm.

The hurricane is expected to pass about 75 miles (120 km) south of the island early on Monday.

Hurricane hunters have detected storm-force winds in the outer bands, with these winds expected to reach the island before midnight tonight.

Heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is predicted, posing a risk of flash flooding and severe thunderstorms. Marine conditions will also deteriorate significantly.

Residents are urged to stay updated through the Barbados Meteorological Service, Disaster Emergency Management, and Government Information Service websites, as well as local media.
