BMS monitoring low-pressure area north of the island

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring an area of low pressure located near 17N 57W, approximately 455 km (280 miles) north-northeast of Barbados as of 11:00 a.m. today.

This weather system is expected to track north of Barbados today and into Friday, posing no direct threat to the island at this time.

Environmental conditions are only marginally conducive for further development of this feature in the coming days.

As it approaches the island chain, light winds are expected today, which may lead to warm daytime temperatures and isolated, localized showers in the afternoon.
