The Barbados Police Service has issued a traffic management plan for this weekend’s Speightstown Alive, scheduled for Saturday, February 8, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., as part of the ongoing We Gatherin series.

Road closures, traffic diversions, and parking restrictions will be enforced to facilitate the event.

The roadway from Queen Street near Republic Bank to Major Walk will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday, February 7, until 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 9.

Chapel Street will also be inaccessible during this period.

Traffic travelling to Jordans Supermarket from the south will enter and exit via Queen Street, while those approaching from the north will use the KNR Husbands Highway, turning right at the roundabout onto Queen Street and returning along the same route.

Motorists heading to Eddie’s Supermarket and surrounding businesses will be required to enter and exit via Church Street from the traffic light.

Parking will be prohibited along Church Street, Queen Street, and Major Walk.

Patrons visiting businesses such as Courts and KFC will need to access these establishments through the Chefette car park at Godding’s Alley, with entry through KFC’s rear lot.

For public parking, facilities will be available at Batalleys near Christ the Answer Church.

Police officers will be deployed to manage traffic and ensure public safety throughout the event.

The Barbados Police Service has expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation and understanding, acknowledging the potential inconvenience caused by these changes. (PR)
