Pine Hill Dairy (PHD) expects to have an increased supply of local milk on the store shelves by month-end and that production issues will be resolved by the end of March.

In a paid advertisement in today’s Weekend Nation, Shafia London, country manager, said the company was doing “all it can to regularise supply”.

She said the plant had two areas of focus: the local white milk supply and the other side that procured ingredients from outside for milk products such as the Sungold Evaporated Milk.

The notice stated that the partnership with Government and 14 dairy farmers has begun to take “legs” and the 180 heifers that arrived in the island last December have been re-homed.

PHD said that along with raw material challenges, it also had equipment repairs to undertake.

Plant manager Kenry Smith said “whole milk and 2% will be back on the shelves in steady supply by month-end and a further improvement in availability be the end of the first quarter of 2025”.

“In terms of the Sungold and Vanilla milk, the raw material has already arrived and is in production, and the company aims to regain a sense of normalcy by March.” (NS)
