Weymouth Wales FC will look to fly the Barbados flag in the 2025 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Club Shield in Trinidad from Sunday July 27 to Sunday August 3. The historic club, which for decades was the heartbeat of the Carrington Village area, has been the most entertaining and successful team on the local circuit in recent years and thereby earned the right to represent Barbados in the prestigious regional event.

Weymouth Wales departed from Barbados recently. They have been drawn into Group C, which is dubbed by many as the “group of death”. Also in the group are Police FC of Trinidad and Tobago, SV Transvaal of Suriname, All Saints United of Antigua, SCSA Eagles of Sint Maarten), and Wolues FC of British Virgin Islands.

Wales will have their opening match on Sunday against Police FC at the on Sunday at 7pm on their home soil at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port-of-Spain. This is already shaping up to be a high-stakes showdown. The Shield’s Swiss-format group stage means every match is a must-win. The second match for Wales will be against Wolues FC of the British Virgin Islands on Tuesday at 4pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium. The tournament will feature 24 teams from across the region playing 28 matches.
