For 60 years, the aroma of Chicken Barn’s rotisserie chicken has been part of everyday life in Barbados. What began on Bay Street has grown into a resilient brand built on consistency, community and flavour.
Founded in 1966, the homegrown business shares its 60th anniversary with Barbados’ own Independence milestone, and as it celebrates six decades, its story is as much about the people behind the brand as the food that has kept customers coming back.
In this special anniversary feature, we look at the Hynam family’s journey and the next generation preparing to carry the business forward. We also meet the employees whose years of service have helped shape its growth, from those who remember the early days of hands-on food preparation to the team members keeping today’s branches running.
The story extends beyond the kitchen, with suppliers sharing what it takes to meet Chicken Barn’s standards, while longtime customers reflect on their memories of the brand and offer ideas for its future.
For directors Peter and Paul Hynam, this is a proud moment for the enterprise built by their parents, who laid a strong foundation.
Discover the people and passion behind six decades of Chicken Barn in our special anniversary feature in the October 25 edition of the Sunday Sun.
