New national 800 metres women’s record holder Sade Sealy will have an opportunity to achieve her dream of qualifying for the Olympics – thanks to Co-operators General Insurance.

Fresh from achieving the record at the Pan Am Games in Lima, where she just missed a medal, Sealy will take part in a ten-month internship that will help secure funding to aid her efforts to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

Speaking to Sunsport, Sealy, a member of the Elite Distance Club which is sponsored by Co-operators General Insurance, said she was elated by the opportunity to get funding.

“It makes me feel great because after graduating from college, it is difficult to get support. So to have a company like Co-operators General Insurance behind me, I am very excited to get started and to reach my goal to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year,” said the 26-year-old. (NU)
