Gittens’ TKO victory of the night

THE ST MICHAEL SCHOOL was rolled out as the latest boxing arena and if results are anything to go by, it should bring Bajans further success against foreign opposition.

This was the case on Saturday night when the locals won their bouts against Caribbean opponents in the annual Horace Phillips Memorial Boxing Tournament.

Perhaps, the most impressive victory came in the women’s division where Kimberley Gittens from the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme beat Trinidad and Tobago’s Kimberley Jackson.

Gittens roughed up her opponent and won by a TKO in the second round. (AT)
