OVER 50 COUNTRIES are slated to contest the 2015 FEI World Dressage Challenge, which will trot off at Congo Road Equestrian Centre in St Philip on Sunday.

This prestigious international competition pits the skills of Barbados’ top dressage riders against their competitors. They will be required to perform the same international level dressage tests in front of FEI international judges, who will travel throughout the world to ensure a similar standard of judging for all international riders in the competition.

This year, the judges for the Caribbean region (Zone 10) are Elke Ebert of Germany and Mariano Santos of Spain, who have both judged in Barbados before.

In 2014, Barbados finished second behind the Cayman Islands in Zone 10. This year’s team will be mounting a big challenge in an effort to regain the regional title and make waves in the international arena. (CH)
