Nut cracker

SOME secondary school students were surprised to learn yesterday that peanuts grow in Barbados.

The students made the “discovery” when they visited the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic’s agricultural open day where they also saw the variety of crops grown in the diploma in agriculture programme.

The different animals the livestock and animal husbandry students rear were also on show.

Here, Romario Greaves (right), who is doing the diploma in agriculture, showing the nuts to (from left) Tashania Griffith, Kristal Thomas, Faith Byer and Charese Reid. (LK)
