A 66-YEAR-OLD MAN, who was found guilty three years ago of raping a six-year-old girl, had his conviction substituted to indecent assault by the Court of Appeal yesterday.
Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson dissented in the decision in which Justices of Appeal Sherman Moore and Sandra Mason ruled that trial judge Justice Margaret Reifer erred in law when she directed the jury that Clarence Sealy’s oral statements that he had inserted his finger into the child’s vagina, corroborated the offence
of rape.
