‘Give small business credit’

A PROMINENT BUSINESSMAN has called on commercial banks in Barbados to support small business in these difficult economic times.

Chairman of the Barbados Lumber Company and owner of Brancker’s, Rawle Brancker, accused some banks of being unfair to small business and urged them to play their part in helping to lift Barbados out of its economic morass.

“We need to stimulate our country now, spiritually, financially and morally,” Brancker told an audience at the Savannah Hotel on Wednesday.

He was addressing guests made up primarily of entrepreneurs attending a Blue Waters Productions and Scotiabank event at which Jamaican business tycoon Gordon Butch Stewart conducted a masterclass for four finalists in the Bank on Me TV reality show.
