Seaman remanded on cocaine charges

GUYANESE NATIONAL Troy Anthony Erskine was remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing in the Oistins Magistrates Court today on drug charges.

The 36-year-old, who is a crew member of an oil tanker berthed off the south coast of Barbados, was charged with possession of 4½ kgs of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of cocaine.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Drug Squad intercepted Erskine in Oistins, Christ Church.

Eight packages of the drug were found when he was searched.  

Erskine is scheduled to reappear at the Oistins Magistrates Court on Tuesday. (PR/SAT)
