A POLICEMAN, his brother and a businessman were remanded to prison when they appeared in the district a criminal court today on drug charges.
Several officers packed the courtroom to see the start of the case involving 37-year-old Special Constable Jimmy Thorne, his 32-year-old brother Jamal Thorne and 37-year-old Ross Ashton.

He and his brother pleaded not guilty to trafficking and possession with intent to supply while Ashton pleaded not guilty to acts preparatory for the purpose of trafficking.
Jamal Thorne also faces separate charges of trafficking and possession with intent to supply.
The Thornes were arrested after police reportedly intercepted a car occupied by the brothers on Sunday. A search of the vehicle’s trunk allegedly revealed twelve pounds of cannabis.
Jimmy Thorne was searched and a small amount of cannabis was reported to be found on him while a search warrant was executed at the residence of Jamal Thorne and a quantity of cannabis was said to be found and seized.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Ashton. (Coastline Communication)
