TALKBACK: Shuffle Cabinet off into sunset

PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart will not be reshuffling his Cabinet – at least not
for now.

That was the word from the country’s leader on Errol Barrow Day when the question was asked by members of the media during after a ceremony to unveil the Yarico monument at Kendal Plantation, St John.

The Prime Minister said when it was time for the Government to be restructured, the public would be appropriately informed.

Members of the online community were not surprised by the announcement. Some said the surest way for him not to act was to advise him to do something.

Here are their views on the matter.

Margaret Lorde: Cabinet and all its members should just shuffle off into the sunset and not return.

Levi Mayers: Everybody knew this was going to happen as somebody said the surest way to get him not to do something is to publicly announce that he will do it.

Lorna Watson Deukett: Sir, nothing you say or do is of any consequence anymore nor does it surprise us anymore. So just toddle off to wherever sleeping giants go and let the hellhole that you have created finish swallowing us up.

Deryck Payne: If you have a bad hand and you reshuffle that hand, it’s still a bad hand.

Jason Cayenne: Well, just try taking the jokers out of the pack then. They are of no use to anyone anyway.

Milan Coutain: You don’t need a reshuffle, you need a new deck, with a new king . . . .

Melvin Skeete: The Nation is the reason he change he mind.

Ouida Burnham: Lump it or like it, you are not giving me no headache. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool the people all the time. Is it a case of captain this ship is sinking or all hands on deck; what is it really?

Drian Xyers: This party was my party when it was a party and had good leadership, but now it gone to the dogs. Now the hard work of getting my parents to switch party like I was convinced to do by my friend.

Karla Holder: Ok, so this means cabinet will be reshuffling then!

Les Carr: He behaves as though he is answerable only to the crown (of his head).

David E. Hall: I keep telling the media to stop being used by the Government when it is clear that the Government seems intent on using propaganda as a tool of distraction.

Some weeks ago when this paper said it was reliably informed about a pending reshuffle, I insisted that this paper stop falling for those red herrings. One strategy of this administration has been to maintain full control of the state of the situation by keeping persons guessing and/or floating stories which sound credible, but which can be easily retracted, changed completely or significantly modified.

Pat Burrowes-Boucher Speede-Puckerin: Dem want shuffling outta Parliament into their homes for good . . . . Dems now, Dems never again!!
