THE FIREBUG HAS started early as a St John woman and her family are now homeless.

Allison Lowe of Cheshire, her children Akelia, 21 and Akala, 18 and granddaughter Rakelia, 4, are at a loss as to their next move after an early morning fire destroyed everything they owned.

“I got a call telling me my house was burning but I couldn’t believe it so I called someone else to confirm it and it was true,” an upset Lowe said.

allison-loweShe said she received the call around 2 a.m., adding no one was home at the time. Lowe, a sales clerk, said the situation was “more than hard” especially in light of the imminent beginning of school term, adding she felt “numb”.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do. I haven’t seen anyone from housing or the representative (Member of Parliament Mara Thompson) as yet,” she said.

Two fire tenders under the command of Station Officer Gordon Boxill responded to the incident. (CA)
