WHAT’S IN A NAME?

A lot, if your name is Sir Hilary Beckles, and you have to explain why Barbados’ newest sports facility will soon bear the name of a Jamaican superstar.

The University of the West Indies’ Usain Bolt Sports Complex at Paradise Park in Black Rock, St Michael, still hasn’t staged an international track and field event, but eyebrows have been raised at the fact it will not bear the name of a Barbadian sports person.
