Last-minute shoppers throng popular spots

IT WAS the eve of Christmas yesterday – the last hectic shopping day before the holidays and it was not even a full day of shopping at that.

But Barbadians were out in their thousands seeking to get those final pieces of decorations and foodstuff before stores closed for the long weekend.

At the popular Sheraton Centre mall in Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, there was nary a parking spot to be found. Only the early and the lucky came out winners and those who did not find a space were forced to seek wherever they could – like the surrounding pastures.
