THE Administration of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus is hopeful that by the start of the New Year students and visitors to the campus will have a new area for recreation.

Senior assistant registrar and the overseer of the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park project, Owen Ellis, told the WEEKEND NATION that rain was the major hold-up for the completion of the park but he said workmen were currently preparing the landscape for use.

Ellis said that initially they hoped to finish the landscaping by the end of November but the rain gave them a bit of a challenge. (SDB Media)
