THE PRINCIPAL of Queen’s College has advised Government not to strip the schools’ curricula of most subjects in a bid to emphasise technology as the way to go in these tough economic times.

Dr David Browne said Barbados ought not to be sacrificing the broad-based value of education for immediate gains.

Browne said studies had shown that nations whose students scored at the top of international tests were those dedicated to providing their people with a comprehensive education across the liberal arts and sciences. (TY)
