DENMARK’S AMBASSADOR Henrik Bramsen Hahn, has praised the excellent relations between his country and the Caribbean, strengthened by Denmark’s contributions via the European Union.

He expressed optimism with the state of the bilateral relations during a recent courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Maxine McClean, recently.

During the meeting at Parliament, the two officials discussed Barbados’ current foreign policy development, as well as future projections.  Senator McClean explained that any future foreign policy commitments must include greater engagement with Africa.

The Foreign Affairs Minister also alluded to the creation of opportunities for more economic activity with existing partners, and to renewed interest in South, Central and Latin America.

“I think a big part of what we do will also have to encompass South-South cooperation,” she noted.

Ambassador Hahn and Minister McClean also discussed tourism, greening initiatives, information communications technology and its impact on this island’s development.
