THE SPORTING FEDERATIONS sure came out in their numbers.

Unfortunately, the patrons didn’t.

The country’s big sports show turned out to be one huge no-show as

the inaugural Sporting Clubs of Barbados Expo struggled to attract significant crowds for yesterday’s showcase at the Wildey Gymnasium.

“It’s the first time and these things require time to improve, but let’s wait and see with the all-star game this evening where we can better make that post-mortem,” reasoned interim chief executive officer of the Gymnasium Limited and National Sports Council, Jerry Blenman.
