KIERRE BECKLES has delivered Barbados’ second medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

This afternoon, Beckles was third in the women’s 100m hurdles in 13.47 seconds in Veracruz, Mexico.

Colombia snatched gold and silver, with Marcela Florez and Maria Merlano both clocking 13.19 seconds, but Florez got the edge by photo finish.

It is the second medal for Barbados after Levi Cadogan delivered a silver yesterday in the men’s 100 metres.

Cadogan was back on track today, advancing to the semi-finals of the 200 metres on 21.17 seconds. Fallon Forde, who was part of the Barbados team to the IAAF World Relays in The Bahamas earlier this year, also advanced to the semis with 21.48 seconds in his heat. (SAT)
