The finals of the 38th annual Richard Stoute Teen Talent contest culminated last Sunday and if you weren’t there, boy did you miss a good show.

Ultimately, Shadia Marshall emerged with 934 points for her flawless performance of Shirley Bassey’s This Is My Life and Diamonds Are Forever to earn the coveted title with twins Naheem and Nakeem Wahid coming a close second with 880 points and third place going to Cherish Maynard with 824.

Similar to Teen Talent of old, almost an hour before it was scheduled to begin, crowds had already begun to arrive in droves at Hilton Barbados.

And based on the standard of entrants this year and who showcased their skills at the seven preliminaries and the two semi-finals, the audience made a good decision since by the time the National Anthem began, there was standing room only.

Wearing some of their most stylish outfits, the audience was appreciative of every competitor even when several experienced some technical difficulty.

The talent was great and the ambience of the picturesque Hilton was wonderful, Teen Talent 2015 can’t come any sooner. (SDB Media)
