RETIRED PRINCIPAL of the St John Primary School Wendy Antrobus was showered with praise during her retirement function this morning at the St John Parish Church.
Disciplined, multi-talented, lady-like, methodical and dedicated were just some of the words educators and students used to describe her.
The function, which was attended by Member of Parliament for St John Mara Thompson, also featured songs, poetry, and an acrostic by students.
In response, Antrobus said staff at the school had inspired her.
“I shall always cherish my unforgettable years with you. I want to urge you to be even more patient in your teaching. Remember children have different learning styles and rates. Do not rush them because they have an exam to take at age 11,” she said.
Antrobus told the students to stay focussed, practise excellence, put God first and to practice the social graces,
As for parents, she told them to continue to support their children.
“Encourage them to use their time wisely, monitor their progress, be aware of the type of friends they keep and never to tolerate or encourage indiscipline. (CA)
