Haynes, Blades triumph

It was a packed field of 13 contestants last Saturday night at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic, but Danika Haynes and Nickyl Blades stood tall from inception to take the titles of Mr & Miss SJPP 2012.
Through loud screams ricocheting in the school’s auditorium, Blades was crowned first as king around 11:15 p.m., as his supporters ran and jumped for joy with their flying banners.
Ten minutes later the announcement of queen for 2012 brought Danika Haynes to tears as she came to grips with the fact that her hard work had paid off.
Blades, Mr Agriculture, wowed the audience when he sang I Believe by Fantasia, with the fans screaming for more, from the time he started.
