BCA rebranding

THE Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) is eying the establishment of a semi-professional league.
As part of its effort to improve the sport, the local governing body is moving towards making the game stronger and more exciting, starting with the rebranding of its leading competitions.
“After a thorough review of the structure of cricket in Barbados, it was agreed that certain fundamental changes were necessary for its sustainability,” said BCA president Joel Garner.
“The introduction of the Elite Division as a replacement of the First Division as our top flight division is aimed at making the tournament more competitive with a view to it eventually becoming a semi-professional league.”
