Fish taken in surprise market check

THIS?HUGE?DOLPHIN being held by market manager Elvis Bryan will not wind up on a platter.
It was among seven dolphins that were confiscated from fish vendors when inspectors carried out a “surprise inspection” at the Berinda Cox Fish Market, at Oistins, Christ Church, yesterday.
Bryan, who is also a quality control officer, led a team of inspectors through the market yesterday morning conducting booth-to-booth searches.
A bill fish suspected of being contaminated by bacteria was also seized and sent to the laboratory for testing.
Bryan said the inspection will continue at the markets to ensure that vendors were properly storing fish and keeping them thoroughly iced.?(MB)
