Drainage wokers upset over no pay

SOME?OF THE 200 workers of the Drainage Division in the Ministry of the Environment are upset over the nonpayment of their monies due since Monday and the silence from officials on the issue.
“This is ridiculous. All we are getting is silence. No one is answering our questions, or even giving an explanation,” one worker, who asked not to be identified, told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday.
The workers clear drains so that run-off water can move easily and prevent flooding during heavy rainfall.
Manager of the Drainage Division, Charles Yearwood, admitted the payment of the workers had not gone through as it should have on April 15.
