Inniss talks tough on trade

If you block our goods from entering your country, we will stop yours from coming here.
This was the blunt warning issued by Minister of Industry Donville Inniss to countries restricting access of Barbadian manufactured goods into their markets.
Speaking at the Barbados Manufacturers Association’s launch of BMEX 2013 at Mount Gay Visitors Centre Wednesday, Inniss made known his intention to support manufacturers in their quest for overseas markets.
This annual manufacturers’ expo runs from June 27 to 30 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
Observing that countries used varied restrictive measures to bar entry of foreign products, Inniss said: “Be assured that my Government will go to any length to correct these injustices.. (GA)
