Ronald “Suki” King predictably won the Magicians Draught Club’s inaugural Go-As-You-Please Draughts Tournament held last Sunday at Top Grade Academy, Ellis Road, Bush Hall, St Michael.
King was a clear winner on 18 points, three points ahead of Colin Price.
Six players tied for third place on 14 points – Edson Hinds, Junior Walrond, Gregory Simmons, Carl David, Haskell Trotman and Cedric Fields – while Winston “Rush” Lowe and Denis Douglin were ninth and tenth, respectively.
The tournament, which consisted of six rounds, saw 16 contestants testing their skills against King, the current Go-As-You-Please champion. (PR)
