Barbadians are no better off under this Democratic Labour Party administration.
The charge came last night from Clyde Mascoll, the Barbados Labour Party’s speaker on economic affairs.
Mascoll, an economist, said the current situation was the result of mismanagement after 2007.
He told those gathered at College Bottom in St John last night that by 2009, the deficit moved from $121 million to $449 million. He added that by the end of last year, it was in excess of $500 million.
Mascoll said Barbados’ economic situation would only improve when “we turn to the tried, tested and proven….[and] when we change the Government”.
He said this country has been dealing with a declining standard of living and urged St John residents to give the BLP candidate Hudson Griffith a chance to represent them.
Mascoll said this country was struggling for leadership and a vision.
“We have to be serious about where we are and where we intend to take this country” he added.
