The little ones took centre stage at the Amateur Athletic Association’s Field Events and Relays meet earlier today at the National Stadium.
With very low turnout among the clubs and the older athletes, a small number of primary school children were quite happy to compete. Athletes from the National Sports Council’s Development Squad, Elite Distance, Blitz, Cuthbert Moore Primary, Alma Parris and a few from Springer Memorial shook off the Christmas rust in the relays and long jump.
Next Saturday, larger numbers are expected for Open League 1 which gets underway at 10 a.m.
