Home alone

AS MORE WOMEN enter some areas of work, they are forced to leave their children at home alone at night.
This concern was raised by president of the National Organization of Women (NOW), Marilyn Rice-Bowen, who said urgent action should be taken to address the issue.
She suggested that Government establish night care facilities. She called for the extension of working hours for child care workers to accommodate some families, adding that about 44.2 per cent of households here were headed by single women.
“We will continue to amplify the call for the Government day nurseries to mirror the working hours of our women,” she said.
