METHODIST MINISTERS FROM across the Caribbean were at James Street Methodist Church this morning for the funeral service for the Reverend Philip Saunders, who was described as a solid example of ministerial integrity.
Saunders died earlier this week at age 91 after serving the Methodist church in Barbados and other areas of the Caribbean for over 60 years.
Connexional president of the Methodist Church of the Caribbean Reverend Otto Wade delivered the message at the service.
Euologist Reverend Duane Samm of the Tobago Methodist Circuit hailed the late clergyman as a man who reached out to all and in whom people of all ages found support.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and Rotarians were among those paying last respects.
Interment took place at Bethel Methodist Church where Sanders served on three occasions. (GC)
