BLP’s way out

Former Opposition Leader Mia Mottley last night dismissed the Government’s Budget as one that was disconnected from the needs of Barbadians and offered proposals highlighting a plan to force down energy prices immediately.
Mottley lambasted the Government for not taking action to relieve people’s hardship and charged that the administration’s shelf life had expired.
In a presentation that matched Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler’s four-hour-long Budgetary Proposals on Tuesday, Mottley charged that Barbadians were being pauperized as a result of the near 30 per cent rise in prices since the Democratic Labour Party administration took office in 2008.
“We need to stem the cancer that has led to the pauperization of Barbadian households,” she said.
