THE ISLAND’S ATTORNEY GENERAL Adriel Brathwaite has sounded a warning to those adults who lure girls away from their homes and molest them while they are “missing”.
And the St Philip South Member of Parliament said he planned to use every power in his office to ensure that the culprits face the full weight of the law and he wants the members of the Royal Barbados Police Force to do the same.
Speaking yesterday during debate in the House of Assembly on the Appropriation Bill 2014-2015 to approve the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure 2014-2015, Brathwaite revealed that changes would be coming to the Transnational Organised Crime Act (Prevention and Control) 2010, which includes anti-human trafficking legislation.
Brathwaite said the committee, over which he had chairmanship, would be looking at the prevention of exploitation of young boys and girls and human trafficking in Barbados.
