Barbados to host Soccerex forum

BARBADOS BEAT OUT six other destinations in the Americas to host the first ever Soccerex Americas, scheduled for October 21 to 22 this year.
Among 1 000 to 1 500 attendees are expected for the event.
President of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Jeffrey Webb leads the list of confirmed names for the upcoming football conference.
Other top names in the sport, including chief executive of Liverpool Football Club, Ian Ayre; head of elite development squad for Manchester City, Patrick Viera and Brazilian minister of sport, Aldo Rebelo will be among featured speakers at the first-ever Soccerex Americas Forum.
Sports tourism will be among the main topics discussed during the conference.
“I am delighted that our first Americas Forum will be held in Barbados, a country with huge sporting passion,” Soccerex’s chief executive officer Duncan Revie said in a release. “It will provide a great location to start our time in the region and to continue our efforts of strengthening football business within the Americas…” (LW)
