Police and Coast Guard officials are still looking for a teenager who went missing sea last night.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said 17-year-old Akeem Hackett of Joe’s River Tenantry, St Joseph appeared to have caught a seizure while fishing on the cliff at Paragon, Christ Church with five friends on Monday night and fell into the water around 11:00 p.m.
“The missing teenager and five friends, all of whom are from St Joseph, were fishing on a cliff overlooking the sea at Paragon, Christ Church. It has been reported that Akeem may have suffered an epileptic seizure and allegedly fell off the cliff towards the sea,” Welch noted in a police statement this afternoon.
Police and personnel from the Barbados Fire Service started the search until morning, without success.
The team searched into the early morning and resumed before 6 a.m. (YB)
