There are snakes in the grass and other areas in Greens, St George. Some people may consider them “dirty and slimy” – the words of late calypsonian Carew – but there seems to be no threat posed.
The reptiles, which residents believe to be grass snakes, have reportedly been seen more frequently in recent months and the stories from those sightings make for a lot of fun when people get together.
Seasoned snake-handler Geoffrey Browne says the snakes are harmless, and is asking people to desist from killing them.
