Teachers marching in solidarity

With the strains of the union song Solidarity Forever still lingering in the air, teachers represented by the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union (BSTU) left the union’s Belleville headquarters around 10 this morning to march to the office of Chief Peronnel Officer Gail Atkins on Culloden Road, St Michael.
Teachers drawn from various schools across the island are marching in solidarity with their colleagues at the Alexandra School who are calling for the separation of principal Jeff Broomes from the school.
The more than 200 placard-bearing protestors are accompanied by police.
