That’s the plea from Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce as Government this week enters into the second phase of the traffic redevelopment plan for the Warrens commercial area.
And according to Boyce, the situation will get better sooner rather than later when it comes to confusion and congestion which arose when the plan was started last year by creating a one-way system through the St Michael commercial district, and widening the main roundabout at Warrens.
“We have listened to the public and what they had to say, negative or positive, regarding the changes we made, but we want Barbadians to bear with us. This is for better traffic in the long run. It’s a three-year plan and when it’s all done, traffic through Warrens will not be as congested as before,” he told the DAILY NATION.
The minister toured the area on Saturday in the midst of noontime traffic, and also met with the ministry’s Chief Technical Officer Frank Thornhill, and Dawood Pandor, principal consultant of Professional Engineering Services Limited, the company responsible for making the physical changes to roundabouts, driving lanes and sidewalks for the redevelopment project.
