Labour leader Sir Roy?Trotman has made a sterling contribution to the trade union movement, but the time has come for others to step up to the plate.
Pastor David Holder of the Church of the Nazarene made this declaration at the Barbados Workers’ Union’s (BWU) May Day Service of Thanksgiving at Solidarity House on Sunday.
“Sir Roy is still battling hard but he is no longer a young yam,” Holder told the gathering. “His time is gradually ebbing away. New blood is required. New people need to step to the fore.
“He is coming of age and needs some fresh blood to emerge. I have read about the young man whom Sir Roy had invested much in and who has moved on.”
