One horrible experience is not going to stop a visiting couple from coming back to Barbados.
It was something no tourist wants to experience – visiting a tropical paradise for the first time and, within a few days, being held up at gunpoint and robbed.
However, Steve McKenna, 55, and his wife Julia Richardson, 49, told a SATURDAY SUN team, who caught up with the pair at Bathsheba, St Joseph guest house, their view of Barbados had not been marred, thanks in part to the wonderful treatment they had been receiving after the incident.
“The police have been excellent – caring, thoughtful and efficient . . . . We’ve seen eight officers and two forensic specialists over the course of two days and the way the cops treated us has been first-class,” said McKenna.
Richardson said the treatment from the guest house was wonderful as well, as they got bumped up to the honeymoon suite.
“We’ve never actually had a honeymoon but now we’re in the honeymoon suite, so it’s very special. This place has been great and the staff fantastic,” she said.
