A DISTRAUGHT MOTHER is thanking her lucky stars that her only child is alive and well following a botched armed robbery just after midday yesterday at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank on Fontabelle.
Cheryl Thorne, who works at the Esso gas station at Holborn, was still at work when the DAILY NATION visited her yesterday. She said her son was “a little shaken but okay”.
“He came back here after he went to the doctor and he is now at the police station giving a statement.”
A soft-spoken Thorne said her son, who also works at the gas station, was depositing cash at the branch, as he did every day.
