After a bumper 2011 that yielded a profit of US$14 million, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is expected to incur a loss for the 2012 financial year.
According to audited financial statements, the WICB netted US$56.8 million in revenue last year – US$32.5 million more than the previous year.
The increase was due largely to media fees from tours to the Caribbean by India that brought in US$22.3 million and a further US$8.6 million from a visit by Pakistan.
Additionally, the board’s coffers were beefed up by US$14.7 earned from the 2011 ICC World Cup.
