The Raul Garcia saga could be headed to court.
That is if conditions at his Garrison safe house are not improved to allow him to live “in dignity”, says his attorney David Comissiong.
Following a meeting with Chief Immigration Officer Erine Griffith yesterday morning, Comissiong also indicated that discussions were taking place with political leaders outside Barbados, including one Caribbean prime minister, to help find a country willing to take in the “stateless” immigration detainee.
“If Barbados refuses to take him I think it would be politically very difficult for another Caribbean country to take him but Caribbean leaders could help with that process to approach other countries that might be willing. That process has started,” he said, during an interview with the MIDWEEK NATION which was interrupted at one stage by a call from the regional leader whose identity Comissiong declined to disclose.
