Office professionals have been told they are being overworked and underpaid.
In addition, United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Larry Palmer said they needed more training in an effort to keep up with changing technologies.
He was delivering the feature address during the opening of the 16th conference of the Barbados Association of Office Professionals (BAOP) yesterday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. The two-day conference is being conducted under the theme Global Diversity: Opportunities for Success.
Reminding the administrative support personnel of their importance to their organizations, Palmer said despite increasing modern technologies their services were just as relevant today as they were before the advent of even typewriters. (MM)
